Founded in 1743 by Claude Moët, a wine trader, originally called Moët et Cie (Moët and Co.) but it was his grandson, the very driven Jean-Remy Moët, who transformed them into a world wide distributed prestigious luxury brand. In his lifetime, Jean-Remy created this international brand at lightening speed, with his ambition and world travel, he was able to bring his champagne to far away places very quickly.
The impressive Dal Forno estate lies in the foothills of Monti Lessini and produces some of the most highly awarded wines in the Veneto region. Produced from a tiny 25 hectares of lovingly tended vines, it takes an astonishing six vines to produce one bottle of Valpolicella and nine for bottle of Amarone. It is no wonder there is never enough wine produced here to cover demand.
